King iRok Takes the Scoring Crown and Prestige Completes the Comeback
Week 8 Changed Who We Think These Teams Are
Seven weeks into the season, King iRok had already built one of the strangest résumés in the league.
Second in scoring.
Near the bottom of the standings.
Constantly running into the wrong opponent at the wrong time.
Then Week 7 happened.
178.16 points.
Finally, the eruption matched the result.
Surely that was the ceiling game, right?
Week 8:
178.02.
Again.
King iRok has now scored 356.18 points in two weeks.
And with that, the team sitting at 3–5 has officially become the highest-scoring team in the entire league.
Yes.
Three wins.
Five losses.
1,099.74 points.
First in scoring.
Fantasy football has stopped pretending the standings are a serious document.
And King wasn't the only team rewriting its season.
Prestige WorldWide started 0–4.
Prestige WorldWide is now 4–4.
Four straight wins.
Goonies Never Say Punt knocked off Darius35 and moved into sole possession of first place at 6–2.
ALL BALLZ ITCH quietly got back to 5–3 with another solid win.
Bosscoe won a game with 87.30 points after Lamar Jackson injured his finger in the first quarter and finished with zero, because horns75 somehow scored only 67.88.
Week 8 produced 1,161.00 total points, an average of 116.10 per team.
Not explosive.
Not dead.
Just enough scoring to create several very different kinds of misery.
And unlike Week 7, when every favorite won, Week 8 brought the underdogs back.
Three of them won.
The standings tightened.
The scoring crown changed hands.
And one team officially completed the journey from dead last vibes to .500.

King iRok Has Officially Broken the Standings
178.16 LAST WEEK. 178.02 THIS WEEK. KING IROK IS NOW THE LEAGUE'S HIGHEST-SCORING TEAM.
King iRok 178.02, kristianP1 122.64
At this point, we need to stop calling King iRok's scoring a fluke.
Last week:
178.16.
This week:
178.02.
Difference:
0.14 points.
That is absurd.
The forecast actually had kristianP1 as the slight favorite:
kristianP1 129.88.
King iRok 124.78.
Win probability:
kristian 56.0%.
King 44.0%.
So yes, this technically qualifies as an upset.
But by halftime, "upset" probably wasn't the word kristian was using.
King beat the final lineup projection by 52.66 points.
Again, almost everybody showed up.
Tee Higgins scored 37.50.
Bhayshul Tuten scored 29.90.
Tony Pollard scored 28.70.
Jordan Love added 22.52.
Trey McBride scored 20.20.
Luther Burden had 18.60.
Minnesota's defense scored 7.00.
Jake Bates added 6.00.
Bijan Robinson's 7.60 was somehow the weak spot in a lineup that still reached 178.
And this one came with a genuinely good owner decision.
Earlier in the week, Carnell Tate was in the lineup.
Tate carried a 13.74 projection at the time.
Before kickoff, Bhayshul Tuten replaced him.
Tuten's projection was slightly better at 14.32.
That alone made the move reasonable.
Then the actual scores arrived.
Tate: 0.00.
Tuten: 29.90.
That's a 29.90-point swing.
And unlike a bye-week replacement, this was not routine maintenance.
Tate wasn't a 0.0-projection bye player in the early snapshot.
This was an active lineup decision that worked spectacularly.
Even the hindsight version of King only finds another 7.40 points, mostly by squeezing Malik Washington's 15.00 into the flex.
Perfect score:
185.42.
Actual score:
178.02.
That's elite.
kristianP1 didn't even play badly.
Puka Nacua scored 25.00.
Chuba Hubbard had 24.90.
Bucky Irving scored 21.00.
The Rams defense added 11.00.
Matt Gay scored 10.00.
The problem was that Jared Goff scored 10.04, George Pickens had 6.80, and Javonte Williams finished at 6.70.
kristian's final total of 122.64 was only 7.24 points below projection.
In a normal matchup, that's competitive.
Against 178?
That's background scenery.
There were 17.20 hindsight points available to kristian, with Wan'Dale Robinson, Rachaad White and others outperforming starters.
Even a perfect 139.84 lineup loses by more than 38.
King iRok improves to 3–5.
kristianP1 falls to 3–5.
And now the season-long absurdity reaches its natural conclusion:
King iRok has scored 1,099.74 points.
That's more than anybody.
More than ALL BALLZ ITCH.
More than Darius35.
More than the 6–2 first-place team.
Record?
3–5.
We are running out of jokes.
The standings themselves are the joke.
Biggest Upset
PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE STARTED 0–4. NOW HE'S 4–4. PLEASE CHECK ON THE REST OF THE LEAGUE.
Prestige WorldWide 102.68, Estevan059 90.78
Four weeks ago, Prestige WorldWide looked buried.
Not struggling.
Buried.
0–4.
A schedule that seemed personally offended by his existence.
Opponents scoring roughly 150 a week.
Every recap included another paragraph asking what exactly Prestige was supposed to do about it.
Apparently the answer was:
Wait.
Week 5: win.
Week 6: win.
Week 7: win.
Week 8:
Another win.
Prestige has gone from 0–4 to 4–4.
And this one came as the biggest true underdog victory of Week 8.
The forecast had:
Estevan059 101.79.
Prestige WorldWide 95.76.
Win probability:
Estevan 57.1%.
Prestige 42.9%.
Not a gigantic mismatch.
But the lowest win probability among this week's winners.
Then Joe Burrow decided the forecast could go bother somebody else.
42.48 points.
Forty-two point four eight.
Pittsburgh's defense added 21.00.
Tucker Kraft scored 17.30.
Saquon Barkley had 12.40.
Those four spots produced 93.18 points.
Estevan's entire team scored 90.78.
That's usually sufficient.
And Prestige needed the heavy lifting because the bottom of the lineup was spectacularly unhelpful.
Emanuel Wilson: 0.00.
Tre Tucker: 0.00.
Omar Cooper Jr.: 0.00.
Three starters.
Three zeros.
And Prestige still won by 11.90.
That may be more impressive than it sounds.
The perfect hindsight lineup only reaches 109.98.
There wasn't some 40-point rescue sitting on the bench.
Bryce Young had 11.36.
Zach Charbonnet had 5.90.
Keon Coleman had 1.40.
The team's stars simply produced enough to carry three empty roster spots across the finish line.
Estevan059 had a frustratingly ordinary bad week.
DJ Moore scored 16.60.
Jaylen Waddle had 14.90.
Derrick Henry scored 14.00.
Caleb Williams had 13.98.
CeeDee Lamb added 12.80.
Nobody completely cratered besides J.K. Dobbins at 1.30.
Nobody exploded either.
Bo Nix scored 19.28 on the bench, which would have gained 5.30 over Caleb.
Dallas' defense scored 9.00 versus Detroit's 6.00.
The perfect hindsight lineup reaches only 99.08.
Prestige still wins.
That's the key.
No managerial rescue exists after the fact.
Prestige WorldWide improves to 4–4.
Estevan059 falls to 4–4.
The comeback is no longer a cute sidebar.
From 0–4 to .500 in four weeks.
Prestige is officially back in the season.
The Bye-Week Reconstruction Nearly Worked
EDUARDOBASS7 HAD HALF A LINEUP ON BYE. HE REBUILT IT, NEARLY NAILED THE PROJECTION, AND STILL LOST.
ALL BALLZ ITCH 135.08, eduardobass7 119.76
If you looked only at the early forecast, this matchup appeared ridiculous.
ALL BALLZ ITCH was showing a 95.5% win probability.
That number is useless for storytelling.
Why?
Because eduardobass7's early lineup still had multiple 0.0-projection players sitting in starting spots because of byes.
Woody Marks.
Alvin Kamara.
Nico Collins.
Juwan Johnson.
And additional roster repair was still needed around them.
That wasn't the real matchup.
That was a Thursday lineup waiting to be fixed.
And eduardo fixed it.
By kickoff, the final lineup projected for 119.84 points.
ALL BALLZ ITCH sat at 129.81.
Now we had a real game.
Final score?
135.08–119.76.
eduardobass7 finished only 0.08 points below the final lineup projection.
Zero point zero eight.
After rebuilding half the starting lineup.
That's impressive process even in a loss.
The strongest move was at quarterback.
Dak Prescott had been in the earlier lineup with a 22.64 projection.
eduardo moved to Drake Maye, projected at 21.82.
So the forecast slightly preferred Dak.
Actual scores:
Maye: 22.46.
Dak: 19.80.
Small win.
Jonah Coleman came into the lineup and scored 20.40.
Chase Brown delivered 16.10.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba scored 23.80.
Ladd McConkey added 12.60.
Washington's defense scored 14.00.
The final lineup was so efficient that the perfect hindsight version reaches only 122.74.
That's just 2.98 points more than the actual score.
There is almost nothing to criticize.
ALL BALLZ ITCH simply had more ceiling.
Ja'Marr Chase scored 31.10.
Brock Bowers scored 28.20.
Jaylen Warren scored 21.30.
Jayden Daniels had 14.98.
Garrett Wilson added 14.30.
Kenneth Walker scored 12.40.
That's enough.
There were louder players on the bench.
Braelon Allen scored 23.30.
Kyler Murray had 20.90.
A perfect hindsight lineup pushes ALL BALLZ ITCH to 152.50.
But the submitted lineup was already projection-optimal.
Kenneth Walker carried a 20.66 projection.
Braelon Allen was at 9.83.
Jayden Daniels projected slightly ahead of Kyler.
Those aren't mistakes.
They're just Tuesday's answer key laughing at Sunday's process.
ALL BALLZ ITCH improves to 5–3.
eduardobass7 falls to 3–5.
And this is one of those losses where the losing manager deserves more credit than criticism.
The bye-week mess got handled.
The lineup landed almost exactly where expected.
The opponent was simply better.
Somebody Had to Win
LAMAR JACKSON WENT DOWN IN THE FIRST QUARTER. BOSSCOE STILL WON BY 19.42.
Bosscoe 87.30, horns75 67.88
This game should be preserved in a museum.
Not because it was good.
Because future generations deserve to know what fantasy football can look like when everything goes wrong.
Projected totals after the final lineup changes:
Bosscoe: roughly 121.36.
horns75: roughly 107.88.
Actual totals:
87.30–67.88.
Combined score:
155.18.
King iRok scored 178.02 by himself.
Let that settle in.
And somehow the most incredible part is Bosscoe's quarterback slot.
Earlier in the week, Lamar Jackson was projected for 20.38 points and had been dealing with an injury designation.
By Sunday, though, Lamar was active and in the starting lineup.
Then the game started.
He injured his finger in the first quarter, was ruled out, and finished with:
0.00.
That changes the story completely.
This was not a manager forgetting to replace an inactive player.
This was plain old fantasy-football injury luck arriving almost immediately after kickoff.
Bosscoe effectively played the rest of the matchup without a quarterback.
And still won by almost 20.
Josh Jacobs scored 23.20.
James Cook added 18.10.
Amon-Ra St. Brown had 12.60.
Jalen Coker scored 9.60.
New England's defense added 8.00.
Brenton Strange had 7.50.
Cam Little scored 6.00.
Jeremiyah Love added 2.30.
Then Lamar's giant zero.
There were 17.80 hindsight points available, mostly through Jameson Williams and Rome Odunze.
A perfect lineup reaches 105.10.
Still not exactly offensive fireworks.
horns75 somehow had an even worse afternoon.
The Jacksonville defense scored 20.00.
That was the team's leading scorer.
A defense.
Colston Loveland had 11.50.
Ashton Jeanty scored 10.30.
Matthew Stafford had 9.28.
Jonathan Taylor scored 6.70.
Xavier Worthy added 4.30.
Jake Elliott scored 4.00.
Drake London finished with 1.80.
Chris Godwin scored 0.00.
horns75 had handled the obvious bye-week issue at tight end, replacing George Kittle's 0.0 bye projection with Loveland.
That's routine maintenance, and Loveland actually did his job.
The lineup simply collapsed everywhere else.
Keenan Allen scored 13.70 on the bench.
Caleb Douglas had 8.30.
The perfect hindsight score is only 88.08.
And here's the funniest part:
Even horns75's perfect lineup would have beaten Bosscoe's actual 87.30.
But only by 0.78.
This matchup was determined to be ugly no matter how we rearranged it.
Bosscoe improves to 4–4.
horns75 falls to 3–5.
Bosscoe gets the win.
The game film should be destroyed.
Goonies Takes Over First Place
GOONIES WAS A 44.9% UNDERDOG, MADE TWO MOVES THAT HURT, AND WON ANYWAY.
Goonies Never Say Punt 134.46, Darius35 122.40
This is a fun one because almost everything happened backward.
Darius35 entered as the slight favorite:
Darius 132.67.
Goonies 128.30.
Win probability:
Darius 55.1%.
Goonies 44.9%.
Very close.
Then Goonies made two lineup changes.
Hunter Henry replaced Dalton Kincaid.
Denver's defense replaced Seattle's defense.
Projection impact:
Slightly negative.
Actual impact:
Definitely negative.
Kincaid scored 18.60.
Hunter Henry scored 6.00.
Seattle's defense scored 3.00.
Denver scored 2.00.
Those two moves cost 13.60 actual points.
And Goonies still won.
Without the tinkering, the score would have been roughly 148.06.
Instead, Goonies settled for 134.46.
Apparently that's what passes for adversity.
Josh Allen scored 27.56.
Michael Wilson had 26.80.
Matthew Golden scored 20.90.
Justin Jefferson had 14.30.
Kyren Williams scored 12.90.
Rhamondre Stevenson had 12.00.
Brandon Aubrey added 12.00.
Even with the two lineup decisions going the wrong way, the core carried the team.
Darius actually made one move that worked.
A.J. Brown had been in the earlier lineup.
He ultimately scored 0.00.
Darius replaced him with Blake Corum, who scored 13.30.
The projection preferred Brown, 12.99 to 7.46.
The owner made the change anyway.
That saved 13.30 actual points.
Unfortunately, the bench held several more postgame answers.
Tampa Bay's defense scored 18.00.
Mike Gesicki scored 17.60.
Chase McLaughlin scored 12.00.
The perfect hindsight lineup gets Darius all the way to 160.00.
That would win comfortably.
Was that remotely obvious beforehand?
No.
Travis Kelce was projected ahead of Gesicki.
Cincinnati's defense was projected ahead of Tampa Bay.
Spencer Shrader was projected slightly ahead of McLaughlin.
The decisions were defensible.
The hindsight was loud.
Goonies Never Say Punt improves to 6–2.
Darius35 falls to 5–3.
And for the first time in a while, one team has the top record all to itself.
Goonies is alone in first place.
Not because every decision worked.
Because enough of the roster did.
The Bench Report: Sometimes Tuesday Knows Too Much
Week 8's loudest bench performances included:
- Braelon Allen — 23.30 on ALL BALLZ ITCH's bench
- Patrick Mahomes — 25.44 on eduardobass7's bench
- Mike Gesicki — 17.60 on Darius35's bench
- Jameson Williams — 17.00 on Bosscoe's bench
- Dalton Kincaid — 18.60 after being moved out of Goonies' lineup
- Tampa Bay defense — 18.00 on Darius35's bench
- Bo Nix — 19.28 on Estevan059's bench
- Kyler Murray — 20.90 on ALL BALLZ ITCH's bench
- Wan'Dale Robinson — 15.70 on kristianP1's bench
- Keenan Allen — 13.70 on horns75's bench
But the raw bench list is especially misleading this week.
ALL BALLZ ITCH's submitted lineup was already projection-optimal.
Darius' biggest hindsight gains came from players who were projected behind the starters at the same positions.
kristian's bench had 17.20 points of extra hindsight value, but none of it would have mattered against 178.
eduardobass7 left only 2.98 points behind after rebuilding a lineup full of bye-week holes.
King left only 7.40 unused while scoring 178.02.
And then we have Bosscoe.
Lamar Jackson's zero looks ugly in the box score, but this one is not a management mistake.
He was active at kickoff, injured his finger in the first quarter, and was ruled out.
That's injury variance, not a lineup decision.
Bosscoe simply got fortunate that horns75 scored 67.88 on the same afternoon.
Eight Weeks In: Goonies Leads the Standings, King Leads the Scoring, and Nothing Matches
| Rank | Team | Record | PF | PA | Diff. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Goonies Never Say Punt | 6-2 | 964.52 | 867.80 | +96.72 |
| 2 | ALL BALLZ ITCH | 5-3 | 1081.04 | 1056.30 | +24.74 |
| 3 | Darius35 | 5-3 | 1016.82 | 989.80 | +27.02 |
| 4 | Bosscoe | 4-4 | 986.18 | 921.54 | +64.64 |

| 9 | eduardobass7 | 3-5 | 931.94 | 1024.84 | -92.90 |
| 10 | horns75 | 3-5 | 863.34 | 891.28 | -27.94 |
Goonies Is Alone in First Place
6–2.
No tie.
No five-team logjam.
No shared lead.
Goonies Never Say Punt owns the best record in the league.
The team has also posted the best point differential at +96.72.
That's a legitimate résumé.
King iRok Leads the League in Scoring at 3–5
And then we move seven rows down.
King iRok: 1,099.74 points.
Most in the league.
Record:
3–5.
This is now the defining statistical absurdity of the season.
King has scored 135.22 more points than first-place Goonies.
King has a positive +55.24 point differential.
King has won three games.
Three.
There are 4–4 teams that have scored more than 100 fewer points.
At some point, "unlucky" feels inadequate.
ALL BALLZ ITCH Is No Longer the Scoring Leader — but Is 5–3
For most of the season, ALL BALLZ ITCH owned the scoring crown.
Week 8 changes that.
Season points:
1,081.04.
Still second in the league.
Record:
5–3.
The schedule has been rough — 1,056.30 points allowed — but the scoring has been strong enough to stay one game behind first place.
Bosscoe Has Finally Reached .500
Bosscoe's record has been lagging behind the underlying numbers for weeks.
Now the team is finally 4–4.
Season scoring:
986.18.
Point differential:
+64.64.
That's the second-best differential in the league behind Goonies.
The Week 8 performance itself was hideous.
The season profile still looks much stronger than average.
Prestige WorldWide Has Completed the Resurrection
There isn't much more to say.
0–4.
Then:
Win.
Win.
Win.
Win.
4–4.
Prestige is now tied with Bosscoe and Estevan059 in the middle of the standings.
The points-against number is still ugly.
The early hole was real.
But the season is no longer being played from six feet underground.
Four Teams Are 3–5 — and One of Them Leads the League in Scoring
King iRok.
kristianP1.
eduardobass7.
horns75.
All 3–5.
Their scoring totals range from 1,099.74 down to 863.34.
A difference of 236.40 points.
Same record.
If you ever needed one table to explain why fantasy football standings require context, there it is.
Final Word
Week 8 reshuffled the league without needing a historic shootout.
King iRok scored 178 for the second consecutive week and took over the season scoring lead.
Prestige WorldWide completed one of the best turnarounds we've seen, climbing all the way from 0–4 to 4–4.
Goonies Never Say Punt survived an underdog spot, moved to 6–2 and now owns first place outright.
ALL BALLZ ITCH stayed one game back.
Darius35 lost despite making a smart lineup change and having a massive hindsight ceiling sitting on the bench.
eduardobass7 handled a brutal bye week almost perfectly and still came up short.
Bosscoe survived Lamar Jackson's first-quarter finger injury because horns75 somehow produced an even bigger disaster.
And the standings are now giving us two completely different answers to two very simple questions.
Who's in first?
Goonies Never Say Punt.
Who's scored the most?
King iRok.
By 135 points.
With three fewer wins.
Perfect.
Eight weeks down.
The playoff race is tightening.
The scoring race has a new leader.
Prestige has returned from the dead.
King has apparently decided 178 is just his weekly target now.
And we're getting close to the point where every bad lineup decision, every unlucky matchup and every ridiculous bench explosion starts carrying postseason consequences.
Bring on Week 9.
